Aldershot Race – Sunday 17 April 2016

Live Timing: http://skiresults.co.uk/live/458

Thank you to everyone who has entered Sunday\’s race. Apologies that this bulletin is so long but PLEASE take the time to read it to the end!

We have 176 entries so in order to stick to the provisional timetable, we will need everyone\’s help. Follow the marshals\’ instructions and be ready to race when it is your turn! We would like to get racing underway as soon after practice as we can so would parents of racers under 9 years old have them ready for their first run and by the race control hut at 09:00.

Provisional Timetable

7:45 Centre Opens

8:00 Bibs available to club representatives

8:00 – 9:00 Open Practice (earlier if the course is ready)

9:15 Individual Timed Runs

~12:30 Individual Head-to-Heads – (Bunny runs will be allowed for group A racers who wish to take them)

~14:00 Club Championships and Fun Team event

~16:30 Prize Giving

NB There will be pressure on parking space at the slope so please respect the signs!

Please only take 2 – 3 runs during open practice – don’t be selfish, allow everyone a fair chance!

At bib allocation, a sheet will be given to each club representative. This will ask for information regarding the team races and must be returned to the timing hut immediately after the end of the 3 individual timed runs. We need to know:

  • whether a club wishes to enter 1 or 2 teams into the Open Club Championship

  • who the team members are for the Open Club Championship team(s)

  • which racers want to do the Fun Team event

A racer can only enter one or other of the team events.

Competitors are reminded that:

  • Helmets must fit properly without requiring something to be worn like hoody hoods or head bands

  • Camera mounts and other adornments like bunny ears etc will not be allowed

  • Stickers will be allowed if already fitted on the helmet although racers / club reps will be advised of the new regulations.

Racers are also reminded that they must have bungs on their poles. SkiBartlett will be at the race if you need to purchase any equipment.

Unfortunately at several of last year’s races there were reports of items being stolen from bags left at the top of the slope and in at least one race deliberate sabotage of lubricant bottles. The sport relies on racers being able to leave skis, wax bags and other equipment at the top of the slope and such malicious actions will not be tolerated. Any racer caught stealing or damaging other people’s property will be banned from Snowsport South races and reported to the national governing bodies with a recommendation for the same sanction to be applied.

A Snowsport England representative will be at the event and will be taking photos for publicity purposes. If you do not want your or your child\’s photograph to be taken, please come and tell us in the race hut.

The start list can be found here and the start list by club here.

Please note, these lists have been updated as of 22:00 Friday 15 April and bib numbers have changed.
