With the decision having been taken to adopt the use of stubbies for Snowsport England races for the U12 age group, Snowsport South have decided to trial this arrangement at the first race of the season for its corresponding age groups. Therefore for the first race, the format will be as follows. After that, there will be a review by the committee to see if any changes are needed.
Open practice – this will be set up with stubbies NOT full gates.
Individual timed runs – Stubbies will be used for the Under 7, 7-8 and 9-10 age groups. Full poles will be used for the other age groups. (The stubbies will be swapped for poles at the appropriate point in each run and vice versa.)
Head to Head Races – These will use full poles. They will be drawn using the individual’s best timed run irrespective of whether that was achieved with stubbies or full poles.
Club Team Races – These will use full poles for all 3 age groups ie 11&under, 16&under and Open.
Fun Team Races – These will use full poles. Teams will be drawn using the individual’s best timed run irrespective of whether that was achieved with stubbies or full poles.
