Team Managers

We have in place a Team manager from each of the Clubs to assist their racers, distributing bibs, guiding new racers etc. and acting as a liaison between Snowsport South and the club. If you are unsure of anything, have a chat to them and if they can’t help, they can point you to someone who can.

The team manager will also be coordinating who will race in the club teams and fun teams.

Race Day Rules

Competitors are reminded that:

  1. Helmets must fit properly with no camera mounts
  2. Long Sleeves & Gloves to be worn
  3. Ski Poles must have bungs on.
  4. Racers are reminded to be respectful to all officials and fellow competitors.
  5. Waxing only in permitted areas
  6. No competitor/official may consumer alcohol due the race day, this may result in disqualification.
  7. Important – in line with changes to FIS rules, hiking back up the slope or coming to a complete stop will result in that run being disqualified. We will be applying this rule to timed runs and head to heads only. Due to the nature of team races, the team relay events will still allow hiking back up the slope if a gate is missed.
  8. Racers are expected to complete timed runs and head to heads as these will impact the seasons results. If any racer cannot compete in their head to head races, then please speak to the committee to discuss the reasons. Otherwise, there may be an impact on your season rankings.
  9. Racers are expected and encouraged to attend the prize giving. Winners of medals should collect their medal in persons. If a medal winner has to leave early, then please speak to the committee to discuss the reasons. Medals will only be given to others to pass on in exceptional circumstances.

Code of Conduct

We wish to remind all racers, coaches, parents and spectators that appropriate personal conduct is expected at all Snowsport South events. Whilst a competitive atmosphere is to be encouraged, inappropriate or unsportsmanlike behaviour will not be tolerated and can ultimately lead to sanctions, including suspension from Snowsport South events. Examples of such behaviour include: equipment abuse, swearing, aggressive behaviour, discrimination of any form, heated arguments, disrespect shown to any official or volunteer. All Snowsport South events are “family friendly” environments with appropriate behaviour to be demonstrated at all times.

Refreshments

The Alpine Lodge Cafe on site will host a variety of hot and cold food and drink throughout the day.
